Apply for Student Advisory Committee

During the most recent SLCSD Board Meeting, a Student Advisory Committee was approved. The Salt Lake City School District (SLCSD) Student Advisory Council's goal is to bring together a diverse group of students to work alongside Student Board Members and district leadership to influence real decisions, including policies, priorities, and practices that impact every classroom every day. This is not just another leadership role. It is an opportunity to represent your peers, elevate important issues, and help ensure that district decisions reflect the lived experiences of all students across schools, backgrounds, and perspectives. If you are thoughtful, curious, willing to listen, and ready to speak up, we encourage you to apply. Applicants must be a current junior or senior for the 2026 to 2027 school year, be enrolled full-time in an SLCSD high school, have a GPA of 2.7 or higher, maintain strong attendance, have no major disciplinary infractions in the past 12 months, and be on track for graduation with no failing grades or incompletes. SAC members agree to attend a monthly meeting on the second Wednesday at midday, actively participate in discussions, gather and represent peer perspectives, and help identify themes, challenges, and recommendations aligned with district priorities.
